Celebrating Arts for Infants!

On 14 and 15 June, three vocal teachers from BHMA led singing workshops for reception children as part of two Arts Enrichment Days at the Brighton Dome.

10 schools from the city centre cluster were involved and over 450 children aged 4-5 took part in music, dance, puppet-making, art, mask-making, museum and venue visits as the Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton Dome and SoundCity came together with schools to celebrate the wealth of arts, cultural and heritage experiences Brighton & Hove has to offer.

Following on from the success of the first Arts Enrichment Day in 2015, this event has expanded to involve more schools this year. There was such a high demand, events took place over 2 days.

Organised by Kay Cowling from Middle Street School, this event is a great example of how schools, the music education hub, museums and venues can work together to create a unique experience for children, celebrating the importance of arts and culture and raising awareness of the many opportunities that exist in the city for children and their families.

This has quickly become a popular event and we hope to repeat it again next year!
