Rhythmix programme Wishing Well Music in Healthcare features on the BBC's Children in Need Appea

Thanks to a grant from Children in Need, Musicians from the Wishing Well programme now visit Brighton's Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital each week, bringing interactive music making right to the bedsides of children who are in hospital for long periods of time. The Musicians, who are trained specifically to work in acute settings, help to gently stimulate very sick children, giving them an opportunity for self-expression and for distraction from their stressful environment.

Project Manager, Jo Whites says, "It's so important that The Alex is included in the cultural offer made across the city. Thanks to Children in Need, our children's hospital is now a place where music happens"

BBC South East aired a short film about the programme as part of the Children in Need appeal on the 13th November and really captured the impact that music is having on the lives of children and their families who are in hospital for long stays.
