Brighton Festival Ten Pieces performance a huge success

Brighton and Hackney Youth Orchestras joined together for a performance of this repertoire designed to inspire young people with classical music. The concert got underway with the most famous of Mozart’s Horn Concerti, No. 4 played by an ex BYO Horn player, Peter Francombe who is now the principal Horn of the Royal Northern Sinfonia.  BYO then displayed their vocal talents, as they took the part of the chorus in Zadok the Priest, Handel’s well known Coronation Anthem and then their rhythmical talents with “Body work” a piece specially composed by Mike Johnson in response to Anna Meredith’s body percussion work “Connect it”.

This popular programme drew a large and appreciative audience.
